Two Mississippi men were arrested for drug possession after police in Alabama caught one of them “double texting” – sending messages with a phone in each hand – while driving, police said.
Dandre Moore, 19, and Dartavious Moore, 22, had a car loaded with pot and pills and a 3-year-old toddler in the backseat when they were pulled over while driving through George Wallace Tunnel in Mobile on Tuesday.
Dandre was behind the wheel “double texting and driving with his knees,” Mobile police spokeswoman Lori Myles said. Police searched the car and found a prescription bottle with nearly 400 pills of oxycodone, another bottle containing pills of Xanax, $5,000 in the glove compartment and an ounce of marijuana in Moore’s underwear.
The Moores were booked into Mobile County Metro Jail. The toddler was released along with two women who were also in the car. Dandre boasted to officers that he’d been “double texting” while driving since he was 15.
